Polyprion americanus

Adult wreckfish are usually caught over rocky bottoms and at depths of between 200 and 1000 m. Juvenile wreckfish start their life cycle in shallower water and are sometimes found near the surface and under floating objects.

Conservation Status

Although local stocks appear to be healthy, they have shown some signs of decline.
